Only two weeks left in 2016, and another amazing year has flown by! This time of year is busy for everyone, and we’re no exception! Here’s all the latest!

Welcome Mackenzie Roy to the Arkitect Team!

Kenz has been a staple at Arkitect since we opened as an inspirational athlete, and she’s also used her skill and knowledge to help coach aspiring Weightlifters during some 1-on-1 sessions, but today Mackenzie officially becomes part of the Arkitect team taking on the role of assistant coach! Some info about Kenz:

  • She’s certified through the National Exercise and Sports Training Association
  • She holds the record at Utica college for most points by a defensemen
  • She was team captain of the Utica women’s hockey team her senior year
  • She holds the New England records in Weightlifting for the snatch (96kg), clean & jerk (119kg) and total (210kg)
  • She was the 2016 National Championships bronze medalist in the women’s +75kg division.
  • She recently won the silver medal in the snatch at the 2016 American Open

We’re excited to have her join our team, and we hope you are too! If you see her in the gym, please introduce yourself!

The Human Movement Academy is up and running!

What is the HMA? It’s a brand new training resource that we’ve launched to better serve our members and also those who are interested in our training services but aren’t local to us. Right now the HMA is a library of exercises that you can use to see and learn new exercises, but as it continues to grow we’re going to be offering webinars, special guests and more. The academy is only $9.99/month or if you’re a member of Arkitect Fitness it’s completely free with your membership! Don’t wait, check it out now!

Holiday Schedule

The gym will not hold coaching hours Saturday the 24th thru Monday the 26th in observance of Christmas, as well Saturday the 31st thru Monday the 2nd in observance of the new year. Remember though, Arkitect has 24/7 access for members, that means if you train with us, the gym never really closes!

New and Improved Nutritional Guidance for Members

Previously we offered some nutritional guidance for members when they joined, and the only way to get ongoing nutritional coaching was our dedicated nutrition program. While our nutritional program has been a huge success, we realize that it is not necessary for everyone, or not everyone can make the investment. So moving forward we will be providing updated nutritional guidelines for every member, every three months as long as they meet 1 of 2 criterion: They have kept a detailed food journal for a minimum of 8 weeks prior to requesting new guidelines, or their body weight has changed 10lbs or more.

This will add additional value to being an Arkitect member while respecting the investment of those enrolled in our nutrition program. If you have any questions about either of these services, please do not hesitate to contact us!

That’s it for now! We’ll see you all soon!
