10 Tips to Maximize Your Gym Membership

Fitness and gym memberships are on the rise, and this is a great thing! However many people aren’t getting the most out of their gym memberships. Here are 10 tips to get the most out of your Arkitect Fitness membership, and if you don’t train with us, many of these will still apply to whichever gym you go to! Without further ado, here are 10 tips to maximize your membership!

  1. Show-up. Seriously, just show up. A gym membership doesn’t do you any good if you don’t use it. Consistency is the most important thing in getting results. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. If you aren’t consistently exercising, you can expect ZERO results. Literally ZERO.
  2. Trust the process! A lot of people are surprised by the programs we write because they are not what they expected…but here’s the thing: Doing what you always do didn’t get you the long term results you were looking for. That’s why you signed up in the first place. Our methods may seem unorthodox, but we’ve helped hundreds and hundreds of people lose weight, perform better as athletes, and generally live healthier lives. Trust us! We know what we’re doing!
  3. Pay attention to your nutrition! If you don’t make some nutritional changes you won’t make nearly as much progress as you could. We won’t waste any time arguing over which is more important, exercise or nutrition. They’re both important, so why not get twice the results by doing both?   4. Participate in the community! We offer monthly clinics, group outings, hikes, cookouts, and so much more. Engage with the community and it will only help to bolster your motivation to come to the gym!
  5. Ask a lot of questions. Every gym and every coach has their own lingo and their own way of doing things. If you aren’t sure about something on your program, just ask! It’s what we’re here for. Chances are if you google it, you won’t find what you’re looking for, because Arkitect exists in its own ecosystem!
  6. Read every blog we write, and watch every video we put out. If it seems like a lot of work…it’s not. Every single piece of content we produce is to help EDUCATE and EMPOWER YOU to get better results. The more you know, the more CONTROL you will have over your own results, and that is key for having long term success in fitness. Writing blogs and filming videos takes up a lot of time. We don’t do it for fun, we do it to help YOU!
  7. Communicate with your coaches! We are here to help. If you have an ache or a pain, let us know. If there is an exercise you really want to see in your program, let us know. If you’re going to be out of town for a few days…let us know! Keeping us in the loop helps us to serve you better.
  8. Take notes. We give clients paper and pen when they join for a reason, and that is so you can take notes. Not taking is one of the most important, but most underrated aspects of fitness. Taking good notes ensures that you always do a little bit more than last time, and continually challenging yourself is key to succeeding.
  9. Bring a friend. People who have training partners are more likely to stick with it. We also offer a $100 referral reward, and family and corporate discounts.
  10. Be patient. Results take time. Reaching your fitness goals could be a matter of weeks, months or even years. Progress is not linear. There will be ups and downs, bumps and bruises along the way. But as long as you are patient, you’re consistent, and you trust the process, you will get there.
