Can I Do My Own Workouts?2019-02-09T15:16:09+00:00

We get many people asking if we offer a discounted rate just for gym access. There are a few reasons why we do not offer this:

  1. Most of the people think they don’t need a coach or a program are the ones who need it the most (Would Tom Brady be as good without Bill Belichick?)
  2. We work hard to keep all of the shenanigans you see in a globo gym out of our community.
  3. A big part of what we do is about community. People who are just here for the equipment don’t usually buy into our community.
  4. Space is valuable to us. We cannot afford to have more people take up space in our gym at a lesser rate that don’t add value to our community.
  5. There are a lot of options available for people who just want to “lease” equipment use. Part of our mission has always been to fill the very big gap in the fitness world between a regular gym and group training.

When we bring up point number 5, most people usually comment that we offer equipment not often found in other gyms like competition grade bumper plates, Weightlifting platforms, odd objects like maces, sand bags, etc…Keep in mind that if we are smart enough to purchase equipment that other gyms don’t have, we probably also know a thing-or-two about using it.

We are not a Weightlifting only gym. Most of our clients are people just trying to get in shape. We do train competitive Weightlifters and Powerlifters. We also train volleyball players, soccer players, hockey players, basketball players, OCR athletes, and people just looking to lose weight and feel better. We use a lot of training techniques ranging from breathing, corrective exercise, kettlebells, bands, body weight training/gymnastics, and more.

Will I get too bulky if I lift weights?2015-10-15T02:23:41+00:00

While everyone will have their own opinion on what is “too much muscle” our programs are well balanced drawing on resistance (strength) training, mobility, endurance, and aerobic fitness. We try to empower women (and men) to appreciate their body’s for what they can DO, and promote HEALTH over societal aesthetic standards. If you are looking for someone to justify a crash diet for you, not training your legs for fear of them getting bigger, we are probably not the facility for you. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve the way you look, our programs are balance, and we will not put how you look above your health.

No we do not offer a trial membership. Most gyms are selling you a certain “type” of fitness like “cardio kickboxing” or “spinning.” We sell results. Period. Our coaches use a wide array of tools to help you get to your goals, and we do not subscribe to any one particular type of training. Because each program is designed for the individual it would be a disservice to put you on a generic program for a trial period. Is it safe to train during unstaffed hours?2017-12-26T02:13:02+00:00

Our facility has 24 hour access for clients, that does not mean that there is staff there at all times. Our facility is locked and secure during unstaffed hours and members gain access with their membership key tag credentials. There is a “panic necklace” available to wear that will call 911/emergency services directly. Our facility is also under 24/7 remote surveillance, so you can be assured that the facility is safe!

There’s an old saying: Catch a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a life time. This applies here. We do offer a comprehensive nutrition program in which we help clients build their own meal plans, how many calories, protein, carbs, and fats to eat, strategize your eating and eliminate road blocks, but we do NOT tell you what to eat and when. Your coaches cannot be by your side every minute of every day to tell you what to do. We seek to empower our clients so they can make healthy and sensible choices on their own.

We currently do not offer any day care services. Members must be at least 13 years of age to join. We do not allow children to be unattended in the facility while parents or guardians exercise.

We currently offer membership options with 12 month, 6 month, or month-t0-month commitments. We are interested in helping people building long lasting, healthy life styles. While many people may be motivated by an upcoming event like a wedding, vacation, or beach season, we want you to understand that being fit, lean, and strong is an lifelong pursuit. Our coaches and staff care about your success and as such invest a huge amount of time into all of our clients. Our mission is to educate and empower our clients to make life long change. If you’re looking for a quick fix, we are probably not the right facility for you.

We do not offer traditional fitness classes like bootcamps, spinning, yoga, etc… the aim of those programs is to pump as many people through in an hour as possible. Arkitect Fitness is about the individual. We find class base fitness to be too cumbersome, and also it’s a scheduling nightmare, that’s why our ID Training program has flexible training times with 24/7 access.

Occasionally we offer class series for recovery, posture, and other workshops.

Are you a CrossFit gym?2015-10-15T02:06:18+00:00

This is probably the question we get asked the most! We are in no way affiliated with CrossFit. Contrary to popular belief CrossFit is not exactly a training methodology but rather a brand. Although the brand has popularized different types of training such as circuit training, Weightlifting, gymnastics, etc… all of these training methods existed long before CrossFit (and us!). There are certain things we do here you may also see in a CrossFit gym, but the same could be said about a lot of different gyms as well. On a side note, we do work with several CrossFit athletes, coaches, and even gym owners to improve their physical fitness and skills.
